Nestled within the serene Lotus Desaru Beach Resort in Johor, Teratai Coffee House offers an authentic Malaysian dining experience that truly captures the heart of the region’s diverse culinary heritage. Specializing in traditional Malaysian favorites alongside select international dishes, this inviting Malaysian restaurant tantalizes your palate with vibrant flavors and comforting aromas that transport you right to the bustling streets of Malaysia.
The menu is a delightful journey through beloved classics and crowd-pleasers. Many guests rave about the Indian Thali and Roti Canai set, praised for their rich, layered spices and perfectly flaky textures—truly “to die for,” as one satisfied diner put it. Their barbecue buffet, especially popular during group packages and festive occasions, presents an abundant spread featuring flawlessly grilled fish, tender lamb shoulder, savory satay chicken paired with luscious peanut sauce, and fresh seafood salads. Each bite offers a harmony of smoky, tangy, and nutty notes that ignite your taste buds.
A standout mention goes to their fresh orange juice, celebrated by patrons as one of the best fruit juices around—vibrant and refreshingly zesty, a perfect complement to the savory dishes. For visitors seeking variety, the restaurant also caters generously with spaghetti, mushroom soup, and western-style favourites like chicken chop and grilled salmon, ensuring there's something for everyone.
The atmosphere at Teratai Coffee House is equally compelling. Diners describe it as clean, comfortable, and ambient—an inviting setting perfect for casual meals, celebrations, or restful breaks after a day by the beach. Staff are notably attentive and supportive, going above and beyond, especially during special occasions such as Chinese New Year Eve celebrations where they helped organize mini gatherings with warmth and enthusiasm.
While some dishes like the Hawaiian pizza and grilled salmon lean towards familiar, comforting flavors rather than culinary showstoppers, the overall dining experience balances quality, generous servings, and affordability well within its beach resort setting. This genuine hospitality, coupled with the restaurant’s scenic location, makes Teratai Coffee House a delightful culinary haven for both resort guests and local food lovers.
Whether you come for the aromatic spices of Malaysian cuisine, the welcoming ambiance, or the attentive service that feels like a warm embrace, Teratai Coffee House assures a satisfying meal wrapped in authenticity and heart.

Ambient: Nice, clean, comfortable Taste: Considerable tasty. Price: Affordable with its price. Came there during CNY eve (public holiday). They serve pretty well and help to organise mini celebration for my cousin. Supportive to the max for their staff.

We joined church activities at the resort and paid group package for our 3d2n stay here. Meals were included. Our first dinner serving barbecue buffet dinner. We were satisfied with the wide selection of choices. We liked barbecue fish, lamb shoulder, seafood salad, satay chicken and the peanut sauce comes with satay. There were spaghetti and mushroom soup too. For those prefer NOT barbecue food. The serving crew were fast and efficient and always serving with a smile! Thumbs up to the chef, crew and management team!

This place offers multi cuisine dine-in variety and one of the best fruit juices (we loved their fresh orange juice the best) The Indian Thali, Roti Canai set are all to die for. Good to have such good food option within the resort.

Serving is big. Food is ok, fried rice had a few medium sized prawns and the satay was tasty. Wish the brown sauce was thicker in the chicken chop. Polite staff.

Restaurant offers buffet and ala carte options. Ordered the hawaiian pizza, whole roasted chicken and grilled salmon. Chicken was decent and came with 2 sauces (1 bbq and the other mushroom). Pizza was probably the instant version, can't complain as it's not their speciality. Grilled salmon was average and staff allowed us to swap the coleslaw to broccolis and cauliflowers . Restaurant was generally clean. Staff was friendly but could take a little more initiative in attending to us at the entrance and at our tables. Overall decent dining experience for its price point.

Had breakfast and dinner here. Breakfast is standard hotel free buffet, quite nice actually. Dinner here standard price (a bit expensive for me as I'm just a student), btw just ordinary western food.
